Docuup – Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Docuup (“Docuup”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal data when you use our document generation application for ClickUp (the “Service”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection laws.
1. Who We Are
Docuup provides a document generation tool that connects to your ClickUp workspace and creates documents based on your templates and ClickUp data. Our website is docuup.com.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Data You Provide
We may collect personal data that you provide directly, such as:
- Name and email address associated with your ClickUp account;
- Templates, configuration settings, and document generation parameters you create within Docuup;
- Information you provide when contacting support (including screenshots or logs you choose to share).
2.2 Data from ClickUp
When you connect Docuup to ClickUp, we may receive data from your ClickUp workspace, including:
- Task and subtask fields, including custom fields;
- Lists, projects, and workspace identifiers;
- Attachments or files where needed for document generation;
- User names or emails as provided by ClickUp.
We only request and process the minimum ClickUp scopes necessary to generate your documents and operate the Service.
2.3 Automatically Collected Data
We may automatically collect:
- IP address and approximate location (country or region);
- Device and browser information (type, version, operating system);
- Usage data, such as which features are used, timestamps, and error logs;
- Cookies or similar technologies for authentication, security, and basic analytics.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use personal data to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
- Generate and deliver documents you request;
- Improve and optimise the Service, including troubleshooting and debugging;
- Respond to your questions and support requests;
- Communicate important service-related updates, such as changes to this Policy or system notices;
- Protect the security of the Service, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service;
- Comply with legal obligations.
Legal Bases Where Required
Where a legal basis for processing is required, we typically rely on:
- Performance of a contract (to provide the Service you have requested);
- Legitimate interests (for example, to improve the Service and ensure security), balanced against your rights;
- Compliance with legal obligations, where applicable; and/or
- Your consent, for example where required for certain cookies or marketing communications.
4. Sharing of Data
We do not sell your personal data. We may share personal data with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Service, such as hosting providers, analytics tools, and error monitoring services;
- ClickUp, as part of normal integration behaviour, according to your ClickUp configuration;
- Professional advisers, such as lawyers or accountants, where necessary; and
- Authorities or law enforcement where we are legally required to do so or where such disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
5. International Transfers
Personal data may be stored and processed in countries outside your own, including within and outside Africa. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we take appropriate measures to help ensure an adequate level of protection, such as using reputable cloud providers and implementing contractual safeguards where required.
6. Data Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, including to:
- Provide and maintain the Service;
- Comply with legal, tax, or accounting requirements; and
- Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
Templates and generated documents may be deleted when you remove them or when a workspace disconnects or uninstalls the Docuup integration, subject to reasonable backup and retention practices.
7. Security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data, including:
- Encryption in transit (e.g., HTTPS);
- Restricted access on a need-to-know basis;
- Monitoring for unusual or unauthorised access.
No system can be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data, but we work continuously to improve our protections.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Request access to personal data we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Request deletion of certain personal data;
- Object to or request restriction of certain processing activities;
- Request that we provide your data in a portable format where technically feasible; and
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.
9. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure basic usage. You can usually control cookies through your browser settings. Some cookies are essential and may be required for the Service to function properly.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you, for example via email, in-app messages, or a notice on docuup.com. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when this Policy was last revised.
